Hello alumni!
We recently held our second EZAA Day on May 2nd. The Sunday
morning service project saw alumni and actives busing
tables and washing dishes at the Community Gardens brunch.
Following the service project the spring business meeting was
held, with 11 attendees consisting of alumni and active brothers.
The minutes from the meeting can be found on the EZAA
website. The weekend also came with a bonus on Saturday
night: the initiation ceremony for 14 new EZ brothers!
Keep in mind that we are continuously soliciting nominations
for the 2012 Outstanding Alumni Award to give out at our 65th
anniversary banquet in a few years. We were unable to give
this award out in 2007 as we didn't have enough nominations.
Please nominate an EZ brother that you know who has continued
to be active in service in any way after leaving RPI. The
nominee doesn't have to be active in any APO chapter, just
active in service generally. Nominations can be sent to Chris
Calebrese at calebrese@alum.rpi.edu. Please include a few
sentences about why you think the brother should be nominated,
and please try to include as much contact information
(class year, e-mail address) as possible for the nominee.
We also will give out Alumni Association DSKs as per our
agreed on rules at the fall meeting. (Minutes are available online here:
http://www.apoezaa.org/docs/minutes/2010_05.pdf.) You may nominate somebody for an
alumni association DSK in person at any meeting, or remotely
by e-mailing our VP, Michael Doo, at doom@rpi.edu. Nominations
are to be for members who have been active in helping
out, being active in, or promoting the Epsilon Zeta Alumni
Association. A DSK will be awarded to any nominated member
who receives more than 8 positive votes and a 3/4 majority at a
meeting with quorum (at least 10 voting members).
What else has the EZAA been working on? We have just set up
an online donation system through PayPal, and you can donate
any time at our website (http://www.apoezaa.org/index/
index.php) where there is a donation button. You don't need a
PayPal account to donate, any credit or debit card will do.
Specify in the comments field if you have any requests for
where the money should go (EZAA general fund, to the EZ
chapter, Nationals voting delegate fund, RPI, etc). You are always
welcome to donate by mailing us a check. We have also
been updating our Facebook page, where you can go for up-tothe-
minutes news on our upcoming events
(http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Epsilon-Zeta-Alumni-Association/306585272533).
As always, feel free to e-mail me with any comments, questions
or suggestions for the EZAA. My e-mail address is
pasqua@alum.rpi.edu.
