A Letter From The Chapter President

    Dear Alumni,

First, I would like to congratulate the new EZAA officers! I was surprised at the turnout for that voting meeting and I know the EZAA will go far!

Next, I would like to update you on the current status of EZ. We have 21 actives, 12 associates, and 12 pledges. This pledge class is the largest we have had in the past 3 years! Not only that, but Overnighter was very successful this year. It was held at Camp Rotary, and due to the schedules of RPI students, we had the Big Brother Little Brother Ceremony at Overnighter. It went very well, and throughout the entire two days, there were about 30 people who came, including two alumni and one advisor.

We are still doing many services for the campus and the community. We still run the Lost and Found for the campus, as well as the Used Book Exchange, the back test files, and the InfoCard which lists all the phone numbers for departments on campus. Our office is located on the third floor of the Union (room 3420), so if you are ever in the area, feel free to stop by. We have also done some projects within the community this semester: cooking a dinner for Joseph’s House; painting walls and doorways for United Ministries in Troy; sorting food at the ever popular Food Bank; cutting fabric for the Girl Scouts; helping out with a Klondike Derby for the Boy Scouts; and most recently, clearing brush for Camp Rotary. Overall, this semester has been busy, but fun!

As for upcoming events, we are again coordinating Meanest Man On Campus. This is being held during GM week, and we have a couple of new participants lined up. Also, 13 brothers and pledges are currently signed up to attend Sectionals which are hosted by Syracuse University this semester. We are also trying something new for Initiation Weekend this year. RPI is hosting a Relay for Life the same weekend as Initiations (April 21-22, 2006). EZ has formed a Relay team and will be participating, as well as keeping all of our other traditions. We will also be doing Initiations on Saturday night, and afterwards, we will be having an Alumni Dinner (April 22, 2006, around 7:30pm (after Initiations)). I invite you to come join us for the weekend-participate in Relay and join us for the dinner in your honor on Saturday. Many hours of planning and discussion have already occurred, and it will be a very memorable weekend!

Overall, EZ is alive and well! We are also looking towards the future, especially because we will be hosting Sectionals in fall 2006. We wouldn’t have been able to receive our fourth Nowotny last year if it wasn’t for the support from all of our brothers, pledges, and alumni each semester! Thank you for all you have done, and don’t ever hesitate to contact me! I can be reached at peltza@rpi.edu. Again, thank you for your continued support, and we hope to see you at the Alumni Dinner!

    Sincerely,
    Adrienne Peltz
    APO-EZ President
